Polyether – often referred to as “foam rubber” – is the same as foam plastic. It is a type of synthetic material. Depending on its composition, the foam can feel soft or firm. It provides insulation, is anti-allergenic, and is produced in an environmentally friendly way.

Cold foam is a type of polyurethane foam rubber. It is more comfortable than standard foam, offers better ventilation, and has flame-retardant properties. Cold foam is durable and retains its shape well. In addition, it provides insulation and is produced in an environmentally friendly way.

Memory foam, also known as NASA foam, visco-elastic foam or pressure-relieving foam, is a type of material that responds to pressure and heat. When exposed to warmth, it becomes softer. Under pressure, it conforms closely to the body, ensuring even weight distribution.

Because of these properties, memory foam mattresses are often used to help prevent pressure ulcers (bedsores).

SG stands for Specific Gravity, which refers to the density of foam – expressed in kilograms per cubic meter (kg/m³). For example, SG25 foam has a density of 25 kg/m³, meaning one cubic meter of this foam weighs 25 kilograms.

Please note:

✔️ Density is not the same as firmness – two foams with the same density can feel different depending on their structure.

✔️ Higher density usually means longer durability, as denser foams are more resilient and hold their shape better over time.

By default, we cut the foam into rectangular pieces. Other shapes are possible on request.

Foam generally has a long lifespan. The exact durability depends on how the product is used and which type of foam you choose. You can find more detailed information on the specific product pages.

Each type of foam has its own specific characteristics. Below is an overview of the softness/firmness of the different foam types:

• Soft: Memory foam SG50
  
• Medium firmness: Polyether SG35, Cold foam SG40
  
• Very firm: Polyether SG40 or SG25
